KINZUA BRIDGE STATE PARK FALL FESTIVAL

The Kinzua Bridge State Park Fall Festival will be held Sept. 17-18 from 10am-6pm both days, rain or shine. In their 19th year, this festival is a pleasure to attend as vendors are set up in the forest-shaded picnic areas adjacent to the park and the lawns leading up to the new Kinzua Bridge Visitors Center and the Kinzua Sky Walk.

There will be over 102 art, craft and food vendors as well as live musical performances. Entertainment will take place at the park pavilion on Saturday afternoon starting at 2pm and running until 4pm. Musical entertainment includes both local and regional musicians.

On Sunday starting at 1pm, the Mt. Jewett Volunteer Fire Department will be serving up their famous Chicken BBQ. Musical entertainment starts at 1pm, with a second performance at 3pm. A favorite with the kids is the ZEM ZEM cars; their performance will begin at 2pm.

The Eagle Dream Rehabilitation Center will feature live birds of prey. The McKean County Wranglers 4-H Club will be offering horse and pony rides.

A great variety of art and craft vendors will be on-site. There will be photography, hand-crafted jewelry, embroidered products, bird feeders, candles, wood turned bowls, paintings and printed stationary, along with woven baskets, t-shirts and purses. Vendor food choices will include beef on wick, chili, Italian sausage and Philly steak sandwiches, pulled pork, sweet corn, cookies, cinnamon rolls, cupcakes, mini donuts, and what would a fair be without cotton candy and kettle korn?

The Pennsylvania Dept. of Conservation and Natural Resources will demonstrate apple cider pressing, leaf waxing, and candle dipping. Visitors will also be able to tour the exhibits within the newly opened Kinzua Bridge State Park Visitors Center and “walk the tracks across the sky” on the Kinzua Sky Walk.

The Kinzua Bridge Foundation, Inc. is the sponsor of the annual Fall Festival. The Foundation is dedicated to the restoration and preservation of the Kinzua Bridge, the promotion of its historical and cultural significance, as well as the further development of the adjoining State Park.  A new sweatshirt/t-shirt design commemorating the new Visitors Center at the State Park will be available for purchase at the Foundation tent.

Two great artists paying tribute to their characters, singing the most memorable music and songs ever written, they never worked together, exactly.
